law books second hand
I want to establish a second-hand books sales business. What are the legalities involved as per Indian law?
I want to start this biz from home. My investment is around Rs. 2 lakhs. Do I need a licence, register with the government, anything like that? Will I get any concession as I am a woman and the sole proprietor? Kindly answer in context of Indian law. Please answer in detail, or provide links.
Thanks!

Edit: I intend to establish the business in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.
you have not mentioned your state. the laws are difference from states to state. any how for second hand books business there is no need for registration or license. only you have to pay is petty business tax once a year and that will be around 1300/- per year in andhra pradesh. it is applicable for small business like kirana, Barber, beauty parlor etc…. which is established in one or two rooms.
Thanks for the article that you have. I found a new one the other day. They look open , but very similar to linkedin.com with more of a social business directory look and feel. Nice thought out interface though. Found it at SocialTerrain.com
