What school is a good school to go to to get a degree to be able to become a Police Officer?
I was wondering if you have to go to a special school to become a Police Officer? Are there any available schools that do classes online? Do you have to have both a Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement degree? I want to become a Police Officer and really want specifics for the State of Florida. I live in Citrus County so any Citrus County Police officers who can answer with specific information for becoming a Police Officer in Citrus County would be welcomed. Thanks for your time.
Nationwide, John Jay school of criminal justice in New York City has the best graduate program in the nation. I’m sure theyre undergraduate is just as competitive.
As for the need for a degree, anyone with a degree will get hired before someone without a degree. The Interview is an integral part of the hiring process since it is nearly impossible to determine if someone has “street smarts.”
To make yourself stand out in the crowd I would recommend looking into studying something outside of criminal justice, to make yourself a rare commodity. With a degree like an accounting degree or finance degree, you will see that with your special talent you will be an excellent candidite for elite inter-departmental assignments.
