Who decides what parts of the Bible should be taken literally and which should not?
I have been told that even though some books of the Bible don’t make sense literally I should take them as metaphors, however, some books are black and white law. For example: who decides whether “God made the world in 7 days” and “Jesus walked on water” should be taken literally?
That is for each person to decide for themselves. That is what the purpose of the Holy Spirit is, a direct link between the individual person and God.
